Morris Nichols represented aviation technology company SmartSky as lead counsel in patent infringement litigation concerning air-to-ground connectivity to provide inflight Wi-Fi service.

SmartSky Networks, LLC developed and launched an innovative air-to-ground network for business aviation, offering superior connectivity solutions through advanced telecommunications technology and infrastructure.

Following a five-day trial, on Friday, November 21, 2025, a jury found that Gogo’s 5G service infringed four of SmartSky’s patents, awarding SmartSky $22.7 million in damages.
