Brian represents technology companies in cases involving patent infringement, trade secrets, and other litigation matters.
Brian has experience with a variety of technologies, including medical devices, semiconductors, pesticides, cosmetics, and consumer products. He regularly represents clients as lead or Delaware counsel in litigation in the District of Delaware. He has also represented clients before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) in post-grant proceedings.
Prior to joining Morris Nichols, Brian worked for more than ten years as an associate and counsel for a prominent New York law firm. His IP practice also draws on his technical experience as a patent examiner for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) where he examined patent applications in the chemical arts.
He has been recognized for legal excellence by IAM Patent 1000 and as a Rising Star in Super Lawyers.

Representing medical device manufacturer Edwards Lifesciences Corporation in patent infringement action in the District of Delaware and related Inter Partes Review (IPR) proceedings concerning transcatheter heart valve technology.
Represented biotechnology company Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. in patent infringement actions in the District of Delaware and related IPR proceedings concerning real-time PCR technology.
Represented communications company Viasat, Inc. in patent infringement action in the District of Delaware concerning VLAN technology.
Represented electronics company Nichia Corporation in the District of Delaware concerning LED technology.
Delaware counsel on various matters for Google LLC and the Johnson & Johnson family of companies.
Represented biotechnology company iBio, Inc. in Delaware Court of Chancery proceedings concerning plant-based pharmaceuticals.
