Morris Nichols is pleased to welcome Hashim Elwazir and Alex MacLennan to the firm. Both attorneys are joining Morris Nichols following clerkships in Delaware courts.

Hashim Elwazir joins Morris Nichols’ Bankruptcy & Restructuring group following a clerkship with the Honorable Craig T. Goldblatt of the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Prior to his clerkship, Hashim practiced in Texas at a multinational law firm where he focused on commercial transactions. Hashim earned his JD (2023) from the University of North Carolina School of Law; and BA (2019) in international studies with a minor in Arabic from American University. “We continue to grow our group and capabilities to meet increasing market demand,” said Robert J. Dehney Sr., head of Morris Nichols’s bankruptcy practice. “Hashim joins an extraordinary group of nearly 30 bankruptcy attorneys who are focused on delivering creative and effective results for our clients and co-counsel. With his experience as a law clerk in our Court and prior front-side deal work, Hashim’s addition further evidences our commitment to having the best, most capable restructuring team in Delaware.”

Alex MacLennan served as a law clerk to the Honorable Karen L. Valihura of the Delaware Supreme Court. He will practice in the firm’s Corporate & Commercial Litigation group. Alex earned his JD (2024) from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law; and BS (2022) in industrial design from the University of Cincinnati. “I am delighted to welcome Alex as a new colleague,” said recruiting committee member and corporate litigation partner Lauren K. Neal. “Judicial clerkships provide unique insight into court processes and exposure to the development of the law, enriching the legal perspective and experience we bring to our cases.”
