Melissa DiVincenzo Elected Chair of Morris Nichols’ Executive Committee
Morris Nichols is pleased to announce that Melissa A. DiVincenzo has been elected chair of the firm’s Executive Committee, effective immediately.
Melissa succeeds William M. Lafferty, who chaired Morris Nichols since 2021. “I am immensely grateful for Bill’s steadfast leadership and dedication to Morris Nichols. During Bill’s term, the firm has continued to grow and strengthen its preeminent position in Delaware,” Melissa said. “Personally, I am grateful for Bill’s mentorship over the years and for his contributions to the Delaware legal community.” Melissa is a partner in the firm’s Corporate Law Counseling Group, where she has practiced for over twenty-five years, providing advice on matters of Delaware corporate law to private and public company clients.

Melissa is a current member of the Delaware State Bar Association’s Council of the Corporation Law Section. In that capacity, she participates in the annual review of, and preparation of amendments to, the DGCL. She frequently speaks on Delaware corporate law and is an active member of the American Bar Association’s Mergers and Acquisitions Committee and a Fellow of the American College of Governance Counsel. She has also been appointed by the Delaware Supreme Court to serve on the Delaware Board of Bar Examiners, completing her two-year term in 2017. Locally, she serves on the Board of Trustees of Ursuline Academy.
