Law360: New Morris Nichols Chair Aims to Build on Firm’s Foundation

Melissa DiVincenzo spoke with Law360 about her goals as the firm’s newly elected executive committee chair and her vision for ensuring Morris Nichols remains a leading Delaware firm.

”What Morris Nichols does really well is provide smart, practical and responsive client services and advice,” Melissa told Law360. ”We’ve been doing that for 95 years. I want to build on that solid foundation and continue that strong tradition.”

Reflecting on her 25-year career at Morris Nichols, Melissa remarked that while the pace of legal practice has quickened, the firm’s “focus on client service, providing practical advice, and really excellent work” has been consistent since she started as a summer associate.

One of the keys to the firm’s success is its collaborative culture. “We collaborate well across and within practice groups,” she said. “There is a real culture of respect here, and for me — and I know for many others in the firm — we have really great friendships that we’ve cultivated here.”

Morris Nichols attorneys across the firm’s corporate litigation, alternative entities and corporate counseling, bankruptcy and restructuring, and intellectual property litigation groups regularly collaborate on sophisticated matters as lead counsel or co-counsel. Since its founding in 1930, Morris Nichols has grown to 100 lawyers and earned a national reputation as a premier Delaware law firm.
