Morris Nichols is delighted to congratulate corporate litigation partner Lauren K. Neal and Chief Financial Officer William P. Michelson on their selection to the Delaware Business Times “40 Under 40” Class of 2025.

Now in its 12th year, DBT40 honors the First State’s top young professionals under the age of 40. The list includes “leaders and professionals from all parts of Delaware in both for-profit and nonprofit sectors… and celebrates rising Delaware residents and workers for their accomplishments in and out of the office.”

Lauren Neal’s practice focuses on corporate and commercial litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery, where she has significant trial experience, and appeals before the Delaware Supreme Court.  As a member of the Delaware legal community and having previously mentored associates for many years, Lauren now serves on both the Morris Nichols Recruiting Committee and the Delaware Board of Bar Examiners where she spends considerable time recruiting law students to Delaware and mentoring junior attorneys starting their careers in Delaware.  In that capacity, she regularly meets with law students to highlight the many reasons why Delaware is such a special place to practice law, namely the high level of collegiality that is a hallmark of the Delaware Bar.

As Morris Nichols’ Chief Financial Officer, William Michelson manages the firm’s billing and collections, accounts payable, financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, cash management, profitability, and banking relationships.  He collaborates closely with leadership to develop and execute the firm’s strategic objectives. William currently leads a team of ten finance and accounting professionals. In addition to managing the firm’s day-to-day financial operations, he has drawn upon his technical experiences to lead the implementation and customization of multiple financial systems to create efficiencies and enhance performance.

The DBT40 Awards program recognizes 40 of Delaware’s dynamic leaders under 40 years old, for their professional accomplishments, leadership abilities, and community contributions. Individuals are nominated from all size and industry categories, public or private. Each year, a select group of judges made up of local business leaders and past winners of the DBT40 Awards program select the winners. Lauren and Will will join their fellow DBT40 honorees at an awards ceremony on September 24, 2025 at The Waterfall in Claymont Newark, Delaware.
