Delaware Business Times has selected Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP partner Jennifer Ying as one of its “40 Under 40” for 2021. The annual DBT40 recognizes the region’s dynamic leaders under age 40 who are making a difference with their intelligence, initiative, and innovation.

Jen is an experienced intellectual property litigation attorney.  Her legal practice focuses on patent and trade secret disputes in federal and state court.  Outside her work at Morris Nichols, Jen maintains an active pro bono practice through the American Civil Liberties Union, as well as working with the Delaware Volunteer Legal Services and on behalf of veterans in the Court of Veterans’ Claims. Through her pro bono work, she now leads a team of lawyers representing a death-row inmate in challenging the federal government on the constitutionality of the lethal injection protocol.

Outside the courtroom, Jen volunteers as an educational counselor representative for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, interviewing high school seniors interested in applying to the college. In her downtime, she can be found flying a Cessna airplane, scuba diving, and curling with three regional clubs.

The DBT40 honorees represent Delaware leaders in a wide range of fields such as finance, law, non-profit, hospitality, education, and technology. On October 7, 2021, Jen will join her fellow DBT40 honorees at an awards ceremony at the Executive Banquet & Conference Center in Newark, Delaware.
