District of Delaware to Assign Certain Cases to Visiting Judges
On May 26, 2017, the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware announced that, due to the Court’s two vacancies, it has invited judges from outside the District to handle certain cases. The Court has created a roster of visiting judges consisting of:
- Judge Mitchell Goldberg of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania
- Judge Gerald McHugh of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania
- Judge Mark Kearney of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania
- Senior Judge Eduardo Robreno of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania
Beginning immediately, the Court will reassign a portion of Senior Judge Robinson’s cases to the visiting judges. The Court will also reassign certain cases from the Vacant Judgeship docket (“VAC”) to the visiting judges.
Cases on the VAC docket will continue to be assigned to one of the three Magistrate Judges until the filing of a “case-dispositive matter.” Thereafter, those cases will be considered ready for reassignment to a visiting judge.
