Delaware Judge Leonard P. Stark Nominated for Federal Circuit

Earlier today, President Biden nominated Judge Leonard P. Stark to fill the vacancy on the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit created by the departure of Judge Kathleen O' Malley, who will retire in March 2022.

Judge Stark has served as a district judge for the District of Delaware since 2010, where he served as chief judge from 2014 to 2021. Prior to that, Judge Stark served as a magistrate judge for the District of Delaware for three years and as an assistant US attorney in Delaware.

In his years on the bench, Judge Stark has presided over thousands of patent cases, and has sat by designation on a number of Federal Circuit panels. Judge Stark was also instrumental in establishing the District of Delaware Bench & Bar Conference and he has taught as an adjunct law professor at the University of Pennsylvania.
