Morris Nichols Retired Partner Jon Abramczyk Confirmed as Delaware Superior Court Judge
Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP is pleased to announce that retired partner Jon E. Abramczyk has been confirmed by the Delaware State Senate to serve as a Judge of the Superior Court for New Castle County.
The confirmation follows Governor Matt Meyer’s nomination on May 29, 2026, to fill a vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Ferris W. Wharton.
Jon practiced at Morris Nichols for more than 30 years, focusing on complex corporate and commercial litigation before the Delaware courts. A steadfast leader, he has served on the Delaware Supreme Court Rules Committee and the Morris Nichols Executive Committee.
“The judicial branch is gaining an exceptional attorney in Jon,” said Melissa DiVincenzo, chair of Morris Nichols’ Executive Committee. “His commitment to public service, broad trial experience, and sound judgment make him exceptionally qualified to serve in this role. We are delighted to congratulate Jon as he joins the bench.”
Prior to joining the firm in 1990, Jon began his legal career as a law clerk to Delaware Supreme Court Justice Joseph T. Walsh from 1985 to 1986. He served as a Captain in the US Army and as an attorney-advisor in the US Army Corps of Engineers Honors Program from 1986 to 1990.
Jon received his JD, cum laude, from Tulane University Law School in 1986, where he was senior managing editor of the Tulane Law Review. He received a BA and BS in health care economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1982.
