Layne is an associate with the Intellectual Property Litigation group.
His practice focuses on patent, copyright, and trademark cases encompassing many areas of technology.
Before attending law school, Layne gained technical experience in chemical engineering, working as a project engineer at a major agricultural and food manufacturer.
During law school, Layne served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Roderick C. Young in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. He also contributed to the William & Mary Bill of Rights Journal and was a member of the Student Intellectual Property Society.
He gained additional legal experience through an internship with the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Nottoway County, Virginia.
