2013 ABA Annual Meeting
Tarik Haskins, Partner in Morris Nichols’ Delaware Commercial Law Counseling Group, will appear on two panels at the American Bar Association's Annual Meeting in San Francisco, August 9 and August 10, 2013.
The August 9 panel, Securing and Perfecting "Uncommon" Collateral, will involve a discussion regarding how to secure and perfect, and the risks and costs associated with, certain collateral on loans made to high net worth individuals or on components of larger commercial finance transactions, including money market accounts, certificates of deposit, mutual funds, letters of credit, hedge interests, life insurance, and 401(k) plans. Fellow panelists joining Tarik include Heather Sonnenberg of Blank Rome LLP and Kenneth Chin of Kramer, Levin, Naftalis & Frankel LLP.
The August 10 panel, Business Divorce from Prenup to Breakup, will use a case study approach to discuss the life cycle of a privately owned business with a focus on upfront planning and drafting for future owner disputes and break-ups, managing owner conflict through the life of a business, handling the break-up through negotiated separation, litigation, and other means, and managing attorney ethical issues at various stages in the cycle. Fellow panelists joining Tarik include Margaret Connolly from Murtha Cullina LLP, Madelyn Spatt Shulman of Carlton Fields, Sara Stock of Lewis, Rice & Fingersh, L.C., and Eric Vendt of Whiteford, Taylor & Preston LLP.
