Morris Nichols Statement Regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19)

03.13.2020

We are aware that several organizations, clients, and co-counsel have canceled events and some firms/companies have restricted travel in light of concerns surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19). We are closely monitoring developments in the United States and here in Delaware.

As with any public concern of this magnitude, the health and wellbeing of our personnel, clients, and colleagues is our top priority. Morris Nichols has undertaken several measures to prepare for and prevent any significant disruption to client service.

At this time, our office in Wilmington, Delaware remains open. We have implemented prevention measures after a thorough review of guidance from the U.S. Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization, including eliminating non-essential travel and holding virtual meetings.

As COVID-19 continues to affect our community and the world in various ways, we are prepared to operate remotely and will continue to provide the high level of service our clients expect.

In recent days, various Delaware courts have issued orders concerning COVID-19 precautionary measures. These steps include telephonic proceedings where practical, videoconferencing where appropriate, and a call asking practitioners to advise the Courts of instances where a trial or hearing may involve the presence of a person who may have recently been exposed to an infected person.

Statements from the Delaware judiciary and additional resources regarding Delaware’s response are available here:

We will continue to update you as we learn more information. We send best wishes to you and your family as we address this unfolding situation.
